Owners of old Weston Hospital want to host mud bog races
The new owners of the former Weston State Hospital want to host mud-bog races on the complex's grounds to generate revenue for repairs and asbestos removal.
Morgantown asbestos contractor Joe Jordan bought the massive hand-cut sandstone building and a surrounding 306-acre tract in August for $1.5 million. Spokeswoman Rebecca Jordan said the Jordan family hopes to raise $5 million to pay for replacing the building's roof and removing asbestos from its basement.
She said the family also has restored the old hospital's original name — Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. Virginia lawmakers created the hospital in 1858, five years before West Virginia was created.
"When people see that, they remember it,'' Jordan said.
A test run of a mud-bog event will be staged Saturday to determine the noise levels of such an event.
Jordan said the first competition could be held May 3 if the noise test is favorable and the family obtains a permit from the state Department of Environmental Protection. Races would be held every other Saturday and would end by 6 p.m.
"We want the support of the community before we do this,'' she said. "We want all of us to grow.''
Jordan said the races could draw up to 1,000 people.
Motocross, ATV and BMX bicycle races also are being considered.

I think too many are missing my point. If your only reason to display Mohamed is to exercise your freedom then you aren’t doing it for a good reason. Exercising your freedom here is only an excuse when the real reason is to piss off people.Now if someone has a funny joke involving Mohamed or art, or anything, no matter how offensive it is they should have the right to display it. But having no other reason but to offend is not opening dialogue. It is only conducive to polarization.Until Musulman’s understand why we find it ridiculous to be so sensitive about the issue we’ll get somewhere. If we just display to piss off they’ll never want to understand our point of view.If you think that you are advancing the progress of human kind by offending you’ve missed the mark. Nothing good comes out of pissing people off, especially when it’s apparent it is only to have a good laugh at someone’s expense.

Would someone care to walk me through this?A miniscule group of Muslims made an absurd request to Wikipedia. Wikipedia did not honour the absurd request. We Pastafarians have been long planning riots and murder against those who have shown graven noodly images. We’ve made a list and one day we’ll strike. Probably not for awhile though. Maybe next month if we’re not super busy and stuff. Actually a bunch of us are vacationing next month, so more likely that month after that I think.

most people aren’t rational, but assume they are and even less likely to actively try to correct this tragic human flaw.Nevertheless, I really don’t think this is just about someone just trying to piss a group of people off. Besides I am pretty sure there is an american soldier with a big machine gun doing that right now very very far away ( where we don’t have to think about it )
