Still, I think fishing vessels poaching whales under the guise of science warrants the piracy or criminal activity exemption.Also the impunity with which the Rainbow Warrior was bombed by the French government and it’s agents and the following scandals surrounding the wiping away of punishments given to the terrorists responsible has made that law all but obsolete (as far as France and it’s shipping vessels are concerned). That is, the French government bombed a ship and killed an occupant in the process. has the French government got a terrorist label? Have they lost your confidence? You can imagine the fallout if Greenpeace had bombed and killed a comemrcial ship…you and others would be foaming at the mere mention of Greenpeace. Yet when the French Government do it, it means nothing to you or anyone else. That’s what makes this, “Oh Greenpeace boarded a ship illegally. How dangerous they are. They are terrorists!” argument so much bullshit. Completely different standards.

I agree. I’ve never been a huge fan of Greenpeace, but this time, it sounds right.

You are correct. However, I am very self centred, and I do not like seafood, ergo I do not think whales should be hunted.
